Compensation and real estate disclosures
You should never have to wonder how your advisor is paid. Here it is, before you ask.
Compensation disclosure
My initial conversation, the family assessment, and my guidance to you carry no fee. Families do not pay me to explore options.
When a family chooses a senior living community from my shortlist, that community may pay a placement fee to Compass Senior Transitions. Those fees are broadly similar across communities, and they do not change what a family pays to live there.
I will tell you which communities on your list pay a fee and which do not, before you tour. If the right answer for your family is staying home, in home care, or a community that pays me nothing, that is the answer I will give you.
Referral disclosure
I introduce families to movers, estate sale professionals, contractors, elder law attorneys, financial professionals, and care providers. Each is an independent business, chosen because I have watched them treat families well.
I do not accept payment for referring you to a professional service provider such as an attorney or financial advisor. Where any compensation of any kind exists in a referral, I disclose it in writing before you engage that partner.
You are always free to use your own professionals. My plan works exactly the same either way.
Real estate services disclosure
Eric Breslin, M.A. is a licensed real estate professional in the State of Colorado with nearly two decades of experience. Any listing, purchase, or brokerage service is provided under that license and under a separate written agreement that spells out the commission before you sign anything.
Senior transition guidance and real estate brokerage are separate services. Accepting my guidance never obligates you to list a home with me, and I will say plainly when keeping or renting the home is the better financial decision.
Colorado requires that brokerage relationships be disclosed in writing at the earliest practical opportunity. I will hand you that disclosure and read it with you.
Not licensed advice
I am not an attorney, accountant, physician, or licensed clinical care provider. Nothing I provide is legal, tax, or medical advice.
I help you gather the right questions, then coordinate with the licensed professionals who can answer them.
Equal housing opportunity
I support the Fair Housing Act and Colorado fair housing law. I serve families without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or source of income.
Every family is shown the full range of options that fit their needs and budget.
