What does Compass Senior Transitions cost?

The planning conversation, the written plan, community research, and tour accompaniment are provided at no cost to families. I am compensated through the real estate side of the transition when I help sell the family home, and I disclose that clearly up front. If you do not need to sell a home, tell me and I will still point you in the right direction.

Do you only work with families who are selling a house?

No. Many families come to me purely for senior living guidance. If a home sale is never part of the picture, the advisory conversation is still free and I will connect you with the right local resources.

How is this different from a free senior placement website?

Accepted Answer

National placement sites forward your phone number to communities that pay them, often within minutes. I assess care needs first, build a shortlist based on your criteria, tour with you, and stay involved through the move and beyond.

My parent refuses to move. Can you still help?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and that is one of the most common calls I get. I never push. I provide information, facilitate a calm family conversation, and often the outcome is a plan for staying home safely with support rather than a move.

How long does the whole process take?

With time to plan, six to twelve months produces the calmest result. When a hospital discharge forces a faster timeline, I have helped families complete a move in three to four weeks.

Do we have to empty the house before listing it?

Not entirely. I often list with select furniture in place for staging, then coordinate the estate sale and clean out around the closing date.

Can you help if we live out of state?

Yes. A large share of my clients are adult children in another state. I handle the on the ground work and keep you updated with photos, written summaries, and scheduled calls.

I serve families throughout Colorado, with the deepest community knowledge across the Denver metro area, the northern and southern Front Range, and Boulder County.

Will you tell us if you think we should wait?

Yes. Recommending that a family wait, or stay home with support, is a normal outcome of my conversations. My advice is not conditional on a transaction.

Do families pay for placement help?

No. Families do not pay me for senior living guidance or placement help. When a family chooses a community from my shortlist, that community may pay a placement fee, and it does not change what the family pays to live there. I tell you which communities on your list pay a fee before you tour.

I tell every family this up front. Guidance, planning, community research, and tour accompaniment are provided at no cost to the family. Compass Senior Transitions is compensated through a real estate commission when I am asked to help sell or prepare the family home, and in some cases through a referral relationship with a senior living community. I disclose which applies to your situation before you make any decision, and my recommendation never depends on it.

Are you affiliated with specific senior living communities?

I am not owned by, or exclusive to, any community. I build a shortlist from what fits your care needs, budget, and location, and I will tell you honestly when a community that pays referral fees is not the right home for your parent.

How does the process begin?

It begins with a conversation. You tell me what is happening, I listen, and I help you name the next right step. Nothing is decided on that first call.

Will you accompany us on community tours?

Yes. Eric tours with you, takes notes on what you may not think to ask, and gives you an honest debrief afterward, including when the answer is no.

Can you help if siblings disagree?

Often, yes. Much of what I do is helping a family see the same set of facts. A written plan with costs, options, and timing gives everyone something to react to other than each other.

Yes. Memory care is one of the hardest decisions a family makes. I explain how it differs from assisted living, what to look for on a tour, and how needs typically change over time.

Yes, and sometimes that is my recommendation. I can walk through safety concerns and connect you with in home care, modifications, and local support so a move can wait.

Nothing formal. A general sense of what is happening, who is involved, and what worries you most is plenty. You do not need medical records or financial documents to talk with me.

What you share stays between you and Eric. Your information is private, I do not sell your personal information, and I do not pass your phone number to communities without your permission.

I check in. Settling in is part of the transition, so I follow up after the move to help with anything still unresolved.

Do you handle estate sales, movers, cleanouts, and repairs?

I coordinate them through trusted local providers and stay as your single point of contact, so your family is not managing five vendors at once.
